Inc, a manufacturer of work station and jib cranes, is now introducing an
Intelligent Lifting Device (ILD) called the G-FORCE. The device is
specially designed for high-speed lifting cycles while maintaining a
smooth and stable lift, which allows exact positioning for the operator.
The ILD can sense the load weight. The force an operator exerts to lift
any load up to 150 lbs with the ILD is a mere 3 lbs. It gives the operator
a sense of how heavy a load is by slightly reducing the speed of the unit
proportional to weight. Simply, the unit lifts a little faster with a
light load and a little slower with a heavy load. This speed change is
very slight and has no significant effect on productivity. The device
increases a worker's physical power by extending mechanical power to the
lifting task and is capable of lifting speeds from 2 fpm to 275 fpm. It
mimics the movement of the operator's arm: fast, slow, creep, medium --
all with no up/down pendent buttons to push. It is like giving the
operator Bionic Arm(r) Control. The ILD always works at the same speed of
the operator. In addition to giving the operator a feel for the weight of
a load, the reduced speed when lifting heavy loads provides greater safety
and gives the operator a more secure feeling when lifting heavier loads.
Another safety feature is the loss load protection, which prevents the
device from moving if the electric power was shut off or if sensors or
connectors malfunction |
